The Hearth Blessing Ritual - By Firewolf

Image
The threshold between the end of January and the first breath of February carries a particular kind of quiet power and magick. It is the season of cold mornings, long shadows, and slow-moving skies, yet beneath the surface, the Earth is already stirring. This is a time when the world looks asleep, but hidden roots are stretching, seeds are remembering their purpose, and fate begins to warm itself like embers beneath ash.  This seasonal turning is not loud like spring, nor golden like autumn, it is subtle, secretive, and deeply enchanted. It invites us to simplify, to return to what is essential, and to tend the unseen parts of our lives: our inner stability, our spiritual protection, and the small daily hopes we are building toward. Late winter teaches patience, perseverance, and the sacred craft of preparing blessings before they bloom. In some magickal traditions, early February is associated with returning light, cleansing, and the awakening of sacred fire, an energy that burns ...

Lammas Magick - Abundance Bath Recipe

Image
Lammas, or Lughnasadh (pronounced "LOO-nahs-ah"), is an Anglo-Saxon word meaning “Loaf-mass” and is one of the Greater Wiccan Sabbats, usually celebrated on August 1st or 2nd, and occasionally on July 31st. The Lughnasadh Sabbat is a time to celebrate the end of Summer and the beginning of the Autumn season, as well as to usher in the first of three harvest celebrations in the Witches Yearly Calendar. It is the time of harvesting corn and grain, grapes and wine, and is therefore greatly associated with bread, as grains are the first crop to be harvested. We as Witches give thanks and honor to all Gods and Goddesses of the Harvest, as well as those who represent Death and Resurrection. This is a time when the Sun God magickally begins to weaken as the Sun rises farther in the South, each day growing shorter as the nights grow longer. The Goddess watches in sorrow, but she realizes that while the God is dying, He lives on inside Her as Her child. This is, in a manner, th...

Summer Magick - By Firewolf

Image
Midsummer, or Litha, falls on the Summer Solstice - on or around June 20th. During this time, we as Witches honor and celebrate the Sun at the peak of His power. We draw in the energy of the Mother Earth and her magick of fertility and growth. We prepare ourselves and our homes for the waning period of the Sun, which lies shortly ahead. Midsummer is the longest day of the year and the shortest night. We cast and project spells for love, passion, and psychic power. The Fairy World itself is drawn to the energy of this time and many of us attempt to contact these magickal creatures and use their magick to empower our lives, homes, and spells. MIDSUMMER MAGICK LUCK INCENSE RECIPE one teaspoon honeysuckle one teaspoon lavender one teaspoon mint one teaspoon oak bark one teaspoon red rose petals one teaspoon st. johns wort two teaspoons chamomile two teaspoons pine bark two teaspoons sunflower petals three drops lavender oil nine drops honeysuckle oil thirteen drops rose oil ...

Autumn Magick – By Firewolf

Image
The crisp air and fallen leaves, sparks the mind of the Witch with magick and mystery. The autumn season is the perfect time to celebrate the bounty and magick of Mother Earth. Many magickal practitioners spend this time storing herbs, potions, incense blends, and oils for later use. Mabon, or the Autumnal Equinox, falls on or around September 20th - marking when day and night are equal, as they are during the vernal equinox or   Ostara . During the autumnal equinox the night overtakes the day and the Sun weakens until the winter solstice or  Yule . In a physical sense Mabon is the harvest of fruits and vegetables; and in a spiritual sense the harvest of the years trials, tribulations, and efforts. We mourn the weakening of the Sun God, and rejoice in the Goddess's bounty that she has given birth to. Our altars are decorated in the autumn colors of gold, coppers, red, and oranges and commonly accented with gourds, oak leaves, acorns, and pumpkins.      ...
