May is the month of flowering thresholds, green altars, and living fire. The earth no longer sleeps beneath winter ash but rises clothed in blossom, scent, and movement. This is the season sacred to Maia, ancient goddess of growth and increase, and to Flora, whose breath awakens every field, vine, and hidden root. In old Italian folk tradition, May was never considered an ordinary month.
