When Did Perfect Love and Perfect Trust End?  This article was originally posted on October 8 th , 2006 @ Witchvox.com Today, we live in a country in which we, as followers of the Old Religion, prosper and grow at enormous rates. Our religion and craft grow larger every day, and as a result of this rapid and seemingly unchecked growth, it appears that more misunderstandings are created through the dilution of misguided practitioners and teachers of the craft. As Witches, we seem to have forgotten the true meaning of the Old Ways. We cast our circles and perform our rites, yet in many societies throughout our nation, the true meaning of the Old Ways is diluted and depleted as each day goes by. Of course, this is not addressed to those who strive to fix the misconceptions, but to those important societies and organizations who are supposed to represent us, yet portray us in a negative, if not egocentric, manner. There seem to be many of us arguing over whether so-and-so’s

The Magickal Rabbit

- RABBIT AND HARE FOLKLORE AND MAGICK - With the recent release of our newest perfume “ Rabbit’s Foot ” I want to focus this blog entry on the spiritual and folkloric traditions associated with Rabbits and Hares. In cultures around the world, both rabbits and hares have been known to be a totem and symbol of   hope, luck, prosperity, resilience, and fertility.   In today's culture, Rabbits and Hares are believed to be creatures of good fortune and protection.   The Lucky Rabbit’s Foot is one of the oldest and most common charms employed as an amulet to attract luck and to keep negative forces at bay. Although they burrow deep within the earth, these delightful creatures are commonly associated with the Moon and Lunar Mysteries.   Why you ask? Baby rabbits (kittens) and hares (leverets) leave their mothers about 28 days after they are born. This amount of time is often associated with the 28 days in the lunar calendar. In the Witches’ tradition, rabbits and hares are

Blessed Imbolg!

Image
I absolutely love this time of year! The Earth begins to awaken from her darksome slumber and the Sun revitalizing rays strengthen as each day passes. I personally focus much of my magick towards the energies of both Earth and Sun, to renew and empower myself and those around me. Imbolg marks the welcoming of spring and the beginning of the end of winter.    We too as witches, celebrate as our ancestors once did.   We adorn our altars and homes with candle light, bringing the suns energy and warmth inwards. We not only bring this light into our homes, but also into our daily lives and hearts. Dripped in the color of virginity, the Goddess of the Witches, is recovering from the birth of our Father God. With the strengthening of the Sun’s light, she to strengthens and awakens.   She brings the seasons and all life to earth with her veil of beauty.   The Father God is youthful and childish, later becoming a warrior and sage. Imbolg originated in Ireland as a holy day for Brigit (pro
