Three Halloween Recipes for Spirit & Shadow Work - By Firewolf

As the veil between worlds thins on All Hallows’ Eve, we step into that liminal space where the living and the dead commune, and the whispers of the unseen brush against the edge of our awareness.

The season invites us to craft magick that bridges both realms, honoring ancestors, deepening intuition, and opening our hearts to mystery. Below are three sacred recipes to enhance your Halloween rituals: a fragrant incense to honor the Beloved Dead, and two powerful ritual oils to open your psychic senses and carry your intentions through the turning of the year. 

DAY OF THE DEAD INCENSE 
A recipe To Honor and Call Forth the Beloved Dead. When the candles are lit and offerings are laid upon the altar, this incense invites your ancestors to draw near, wrapped in the sacred smoke of remembrance and love. For this recipe you will need the following ingredients, 

1 tablespoon copal resin 
1 tablespoon myrrh resin 
1 tablespoon dried marigold petals 
1 teaspoon dried rose petals 
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
1 teaspoon sandalwood powder 
10 drops patchouli essential oil 
10 drops myrrh essential oil 
10 drops labdanum essential oil 

Blend the ingredients with reverence. Burn on charcoal during your ancestral rites, visualizing the smoke as a bridge of light between worlds. 

MAGICKAL VEIL RITUAL OIL 
A recipe To Open the Window of Communication with the Spirit World. This ritual oil attunes your energy to the world beyond the veil. For this recipe you need the following ingredients, 

1/2 cup jojoba oil 
3 drops jasmine essential oil 
3 drops poplar essential oil 
9 drops clary sage essential oil 
9 drops myrrh essential oil 
13 drops frankincense essential oil 
13 dried elder berries 
A pinch of mugwort 
A pinch of spearmint leaves 

Combine in a glass bottle, speaking your intent with each addition. Shake gently and allow to rest for seven nights under the waning moon. Use it to anoint your third eye before divination, or wear as perfume during spirit communication and seance work. 

SHADOW SPELL RITUAL OIL
A recipe for Transformation and Empowerment in the Dark Half of the Year. This oil channels the sacred fire of transformation. It burns away fear and stagnation, igniting courage and creativity as you step into your power through the darker months. For this recipe you need the following ingredients, 

1 cup sweet almond oil 
3 drops black pepper essential oil 
3 drops cinnamon essential oil 
3 drops clove essential oil 
9 drops black spruce essential oil 
9 drops patchouli essential oil 
13 drops labdanum absolute 
A pinch of black malva flowers 
A small piece of black obsidian 

Blend in a glass vessel, invoking the fire within. Allow to infuse for one week before use. Anoint candles, tools, or your solar plexus before rituals of courage, release, or rebirth. 

These sacred recipes weave together earth, spirit, and intention, each one a key to the unseen. Use them to honor your ancestors, open your psychic senses, and claim your strength as the Wheel turns once more.

The Witches Harvest - Cornucopia – July 31st - August 2nd  Meititura, Lughnasadh, Lammas, The First Harvest, Harvest of Corn and Grain  Meititura - The Harvest of Grain and Wheat During the month of July into early August, corn and grains were the first crops to be harvested by the ancestors of the Witch. In ancient Sicily, the ‘Meititura’ (Harvest) was period of hard work, festivity and the blessings of the ‘First Fruits’ of the Agricultural Season.
