A few Springtime Charms…

Spring is a wonderful season - a time of renewal and rebirth. Flowers begin to bloom and the air becomes fresh and new. For those of the Old Wisdom, the spring season is a time of magick and power.  I wanted to share with you, the following springtime charms - many blessings!

Garden of Luck: Begin by washing an Amazonite Stone in salted water. Place a handful of flower seeds in a clear glass bowl. Place the Amazonite Stone on top of the seeds. Allow the bowl to sit in a windowsill for three days - to collect the light of the sun and moon. Afterwards, plant the seeds and the stone in your magickal garden or all together in a ceramic pot. As the flowers grow and bloom, so will your luck.

Light Green Candle Spell: To attract prosperity and luck, on the eve of the Spring Equinox, burn a light-green candle that has been anointed with sunflower and marjoram oil. Light the candle a few minutes before midnight, welcoming spring and the arrival of new life. You may state out loud a prayer or incantation directed towards attracting prosperity and luck or inviting the essence and magick of the season into your life.

Lilac Cleansing Bath: Blend together equal portions of the following ingredients - lilac blossoms, sea salt, and lemon balm. On any night during the waning moon phase, add three tablespoons of this blend to a warm bathtub. Bathe in the fragrant waters, while stating out loud a prayer or incantation directed towards cleansing and casting off evil. Repeat this ritual once a day for seven days.

Spring House Cleaning Incense Blend: Using a mortar and pestle, grind together equal portions of the following ingredients - benzoin resin, hyssop, lavender, lemon peel, lilac, and white rose blossoms. Afterwards, add nine drops of benzoin absolute and lavender essential oil to the blend. Mix well. Burn a few pinches of this incense on a glowing charcoal briquette, allowing the smoke to fumigate each room of you home. Travel through each room in a counter-clockwise direction. You may state out loud a prayer or incantation directed towards cleansing and protection.

The Witches Harvest - Cornucopia – July 31st - August 2nd  Meititura, Lughnasadh, Lammas, The First Harvest, Harvest of Corn and Grain  Meititura - The Harvest of Grain and Wheat  During the month of July into early August, corn and grains were the first crops to be harvested by the ancestors of the Witch. In ancient Sicily, the ‘Meititura’ (Harvest) was period of hard work, festivity and the blessings of the ‘First Fruits’ of the Agricultural Season. An effigy or puppet of the Grain Mother was fashioned from sheaves of wheat and adorned in female attire.
